Izzy - Adoption Pending
Izzy is about 65 pounds and is 5 years old. Her owner had been diagnosed with dementia years earlier and had reached the stage where she needed to move into a care home, leaving her unable to continue caring for Izzy. At the time, there were no suitable placement options available, so her trainer stepped in to ensure Izzy had a safe, stable, and loving transition home. During training, the trainer quickly realized Izzy is a very special dog, but she struggles with settling in and feeling secure in new environments. Izzy was primarily kept as a backyard dog with limited exposure to new places and experiences, which likely contributes to her anxiety and difficulty adjusting. Izzy is not good with cats. She is spayed and has been on heartworm preventative. Her vaccines may need to be updated, but ARG will pay for that.

Sadie nee Dorothy - Adoption Pending
Meet Dorothy. She is one of the Golden Girls taken in from SC. Dorothy is a gentle dog with an approximate weight of 50 pounds and an age of about three and a half years. She is microchipped.
Dorothy has lived with three other female dogs. We do not yet know how she does with small animals or cats, or how she interacts with young children. It is suggested that the home be for adults and include a conventional fenced yard.
Dorothy is currently in foster care in Marietta, GA. She is seeking a foster-to-adopt home because she is heartworm positive and will need treatment before she can be spayed.
Her treatment plan is as follows:
- 30 days of doxycycline
- Monthly heartworm preventative
- After the first 30 days, her first injection is given intramuscularly
- Strict rest and leash walking for 30 days following the injection
- Day 31–32: 2nd and 3rd injections, followed by strict 30 days of rest
- Retesting will occur in 6 months to confirm she is negative for heartworms

Rudy
Special Needs Airedale needs forever home. Rudy has been in foster care for months. He is currently with 4 other dogs, however, his energy sets one of the others off at times.
We are asking you to look into your hearts and help give Rudy the best life possible. Rudy is a gentle, loving male Airedale (about 50 lbs, estimated 7–10 years old) who has had a hard start and now needs a kind, patient person or family to call his own.
Rudy is blind from progressive retinal atrophy and has a painful hip, but his medical care will be fully covered by ARG. What he needs most is a safe, calm home with soft footing, a secure yard, and someone who will love him for the sweet, devoted companion he is.
He is affectionate, loyal, and eager to bond. His foster can no longer keep him, and we are hoping his forever family is out there.
Rudy is currently in SC. We will consider adoption outside of our region with the approval of the other regions coordinator.
No cats or farm animals. Older children only. He must have a traditionally fenced yard with a 6 to 8 ft tall fence.
